Taylor Bryant Wood Arrives!

Well....Taylor has official made his arrival into the Wood family - a little boy among a whole bunch of girls! But, he has a lot of love. He was born on Friday, May 13th (yes, Friday the 13th...will now always be a lucky day for us) at 8:58 am and weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces. About 1am I started having labor pains and Nathan didn't totally believe me at first. They kept coming about 3 or 4 minutes apart and I really didn't know what to expect as Avery was induced and I never really experienced "labor" with her. Of course I googled how long the contractions have to last before you go to the hospital and it said they have to last something ridiculous like 45-60 seconds. Well mine were about 20 and there was no way I was waiting until they lasted 60 seconds. We finally made it to the hospital about 4am. Dad came to the house to stay with Avery and we were literally sitting in the car ready to pull out the second he pulled in the driveway. Mom was finishing up teaching in Little Rock and she was suppossed to come in that night but I called and told her to switch it. Anna and Olivia of course got on a plane too!

They took me back to labor and delivery and Nathan and I laughed as they put us in the exact same room that Avery was born in....kinda funny! Familiar at least. My doctor was not on call so Dr. Thurston was the one who delivered Taylor. He was great....added a little humor to the event. I wanted the epidural immediately but they wanted me to have my blood checked and give me fluids for 20 minutes before they could give me the pain meds. Man was that no fun. They gave me the fluids and didn't wait on the bood! Thank goodness. They also had to give me antibiotics for delivery and as the doctor was administering the epidural I broke out and started itching frantically. Yes - an allergic reaction to the antibiotics....so we stopped that and had to find a new one. Luckily once the meds stopped I stopped itching immediately.

Ronnie went to the house to watch Avery so Dad could come to the hospital. Jeannie and Ronnie got to the hospital while Patricia watched Avery. Mom got to Dallas and to the hospital about an hour before Taylor was born. It all went pretty quickly. Taylor was ready to be here! We had lots of visitors...the triplets were able to come down from Oklahoma for the night to see their new brother...Grandma and Granpaul Luther came. Grammy came to see us too! Anna and Olivia didn't make it for Taylor's birth but they were there in no time. Avery loved having Olivia around too! Those two will be trouble together one day...

We are very lucky to have a sweet little boy that is healthy and just perfect! We are probably in for a wild ride (or a least a different ride) with a little boy!

I was very worried about how Avery was going to react. She immediately loved him! Of course she has been talking about Taylor for months now. She didn't really like seeing me sit on the bed with all the machines behind me...I am sure that looks a little scary. She kept saying "Mommy's ok...Mommy's fine" and we assured her I was fine. She loved kissing Taylor at the hospital and holding him. It was so sweet. Hopefully, they will be very close!

Avery walking in to see Taylor for the first time...

Hard to tell but I had tears as this was the first time I had held them both together.

Easter 2011

Well, since Bunnies are Avery's favorite animal Easter time around this house is quite an obsession with her. She loved dying the eggs, and loved hunting the eggs. It was hard to even take her to the grocery store with me during Easter season because there was bunny stuff everywhere and she would have a total meltdown when we would leave with no bunnies in hand. Believe me we have enough bunnies and they all have a name (Peter, Baby Peter, Bun Bun, Brown Bunny, little bunny). It was even more fun because the triplets were here to hunt eggs with her! Avery adores her sisters!

Grandpa and Avery checking out what the Easter Bunny left her.

Avery and her Nana!

Dying eggs with her sisters. Avery didn't quite understand the concept. She would throw the eggs in the cups of dye and then dye would splash everywhere.

Olivia's Birthday

So its definitely been awhile since I have posted any new pictures, but I guess a newborn does that to you! We had such a fun time at Olivia's Birthday Party - She turned 1. Anna did such a good job with her "Pink Party". Avery and Olivia LOVE to see each other. I was about 9 months pregnant with Taylor and got approval from my Doctor to travel (Thanks Dr. Hagood). We got to Chicago late on Thursday evening and Avery and Olivia were so excited to see each other. They played in the ball pit for awhile until Avery needed her diaper changed. She was so excited and wanted to get up that she accidentally kicked me very hard in the stomach. I didn't think much about it (except that it hurt), until the next morning when I had a small bruise and it kind of felt weird through the night. So Anna and I got up the next morning and called my Doctor. She said I needed to find someone to listen to Taylor's heart rate. So to the emergency room we went. Luckily going to the ER in Hinsale is 1. close and 2. so calm and not busy that we were in and out in two hours. They checked me into the hospital, gave me a room, examined me and released me all in two hours. That would have NEVER happened in Dallas at any hospital. The Dr. said all was fine with little Taylor and off we went to prepare for Olivia's Birthday. As Anna pointed out - when I am in town someone always goes to the ER - one time it was Avery, one time it was Olivia and now me. Running joke I guess. Who will be next?

Olivia blowing out her candles! Too bad she had an allergic reaction to something in the cake and we had to give her Benadryl.

Blue eyes!

Olivia gets some help whether she wants it or not!

Avery telling Olivia what to do....I imagine Olivia is in for this for the rest of her life. Like sisters do...ha ha.

The car was the prized possession all weekend!

The past few months!

We went to the Armstrong carnival this weekend and Avery had a blast! She rode the train around the parking lot, bounced in the bouncy house (which we were very surprised she went in by herself), danced around the cake walk and ate a pushup. I would say it was a good day for her!
Jumping in the bounce house!

Avery LOVES the park. Everytime we drive by (even if we aren't going to the park) she yells park, swing and slide and she cries when we have to leave. She is getting so big I can't believe it. So hard to think that she will be 2 soon! Avery's first "real" haircut! She didn't quite know what to think....she sat in a booster chair and just stared at herself in the mirror! No more mullet!
Avery's first trip to McDonald's....she has had McDonald's at the airport before but this was the first trip to a real one. She had chicken mcnuggets, apples and milk and pretty much thought it was great. The toy was the real prize though...
Smiley baby!
Avery loves when her sisters are in town.
Bubbles are the best.

Eating cake for Daddy's birthday!
Valentine's Day!
First meal out of her high chair. She thought she was so big and was so proud of herself! We still eat in her highchair sometimes when she is eating really good things that Lily will swipe from her.

Snow Day! We had quite a few days of snow and ice in February and Avery hated the snow. She screamed and cried and just said "code" for cold......she promptly pranced back in the house. Wonder where she gets her aversion to cold?

More bubbles!
